Byoshower FAQs

Byoshower FAQ's

What is the difference between Byoshower and a normal Body Wash or Shower Gel?

Unlike most body washes or shower gels, Byoshower requires no additional water making it a truly “go anywhere” body wash.  You don’t need to be wet to use it and you don’t need to rinse it off.  You simply pump the foam onto the skin or on to your hand, massage into the area to be cleaned and towel dry, leaving your skin clean, soft and odour free.  Byoshower using Byotrol™ neutralises bacteria thus removing germs and bad odours leaving a protective layer on the skin invisible to the eye preventing bacteria from reforming.

How effective is Byoshower against Bacteria and Viruses?

Byoshower contains Byotrol™ which is scientifically proven to kill 99.99% of bacteria in 30 seconds and provide long lasting protection against bacteria, germs and viruses for more than eight hours.  Byotrol™ has a Broad-based efficacy across all microbial classes, bacteria, viruses, fungi, moulds, micro-bacteria and algae including so called “Superbugs” including Swine Flu and MRSA.

How much will I need?

How long the bottle will last will depend on your size and whether you are washing head to toe or having a quick wash of smaller areas such as face, armpits, groin and feet. The product is a liquid and is applied as a foam, so will go quite a long way.  As a guide, a 50ml bottle will give you approximately 3-4 full body washes, or 12-14 quick washes. A 200ml foam bottle will give you approximately 12 full body washes or 30 quick washes.

Is Byoshower safe for Children?

Byoshower products are gentle enough to use on children and babies and are great for quick clean-ups.  The anti-microbial body wash contains no alcohol and is pH balanced, so it will not dry out your skin.

I see "fragrance" listed on the label.  Do your products contain synthetic fragrances?

The term "fragrance" on our labels may indicate the use of natural fragrance (essential oils), synthetic fragrance or a combination of both.  Byoshower makes every attempt to exclusively use blends of natural oils in formulating our fragrances, which sometimes results in us using over fifteen different essential oils. However, on certain occasions, it may be necessary to use synthetic ingredients in our fragrances in order to sufficiently mix the fragrance with the product formula base and to keep the product stable.

Why does Byoshower use synthetic fragrances in any of their products?

The only instance when a synthetic material is acceptable is when there is no viable natural alternative and it has absolutely no negative effects - on you or the environment.

I am concerned about having a reaction to a synthetic fragrance in one of your products. What should I do?

Byoshower uses synthetic fragrances only when it is absolutely necessary to deliver stable and safe products.

We understand allergy concerns and strive to provide our consumers with safe, natural products.  If you are concerned that you may have a reaction or did have a reaction to one of our products, please contact us.  In the case of life-threatening emergencies, please go the nearest Hospital or call your Doctor.

To find out if a certain synthetic and/or essential oil is included in a particular product, please review the product's ingredient list on this site or contact us so our consumer care team can review the ingredients of the product about which you are inquiring.  All requests must be received in writing.  Please note that we will not be able to provide information regarding the list of the ingredients within our fragrances.  These formulations are proprietary and confidential.

Does Byoshower contain Alcohol?

NO - None of the Byoshower products contain alcohol, Byoshower will NOT dry the skin.  Many Anti-Microbial body washes or sanitizers use alcohol. Alcohol will initially kill all fungi and 99.9% of germs and bacteria but does not provide long lasting protection against bacteria.

Couldn’t I just wash with water or use a baby wipe?

Well, yes you could but if you don’t have access to water, your options are limited.  Using water alone, even many soaps does not provide any long lasting anti-microbial cleansing and certainly not 8 hours or more of protection.  Byoshower does!  Using a baby wipe or an alcohol wipe may leave you feeling sticky and you then have the problem of what to do with the used wipe.

Does Byoshower contain Parabens or Triclosan?

NO
- Byoshower does not contain any parabens, or triclosan, that have both been linked to health and environmental concerns.

Does Byoshower contain any heavy metals?

NO– Byoshower contains no heavy metals

Byoshower is aimed at the outdoor and travel market, is it an environmentally friendly product?

YES -
Byoshower contains no hazardous or harmful chemicals and the Anti-Microbial ingredient is environmentally sound.  The packaging used is where possible, made from recycled materials and we encourage reuse of the spray and foamer bottles by asking customers to buy a large refill rather than repurchasing foamers or spray bottles.

What is the science behind Byotrol™?

Technically speaking, Byotrol™ is a patented technology that involves a non-chemical combination (sequestration) of a selection of chosen biocides to an inert polymer.

This combination creates a thermally and chemically stable species that exists as a nano-colloid in aqueous solutions.  Byotrol™ is not a new, unknown chemical, but a combination of existing and well-known ingredients combined together in a new way.  This means it is based on materials that are tried, trusted and regulatory approved.

The polymer is typically hydrophobic in nature and preferentially adheres the Byotrol molecule to hard surfaces and organic materials.  This adherent/hydrophobic quality also makes the biocides water resistant.  This means they remain in place a lot longer than previously thought possible, creating a long-lasting, incredibly hostile environment for microbes that can last for 7 days on hard surfaces and up to 8 hours or more on the skin.
